BACKGROUND

In July, the Sonoma County Chapter of the ACLU of Northern California sent the following letter to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors:

“Dear Chair Gore and Members of the Board of Supervisors:

The Sonoma County Chapter of the ACLU of Northern California joins scores of Sonoma County businesses and organizations in supporting North Bay Jobs with Justice’s “Five for Farmworkers” campaign.

With fire season upon us, it is urgent that you immediately support linguistic justice, hazard pay, disaster insurance, community safety observers, and clean bathrooms and water for some of our most vulnerable community members.

Thank you for considering our input.”

CALL TO ACTION

Our Board of Supervisors will be discussing the “Agriculture Access Verification Card Program” at the August 30 board meeting (Item #11 on their agenda). We encourage those who can to attend and support the calls for equity and justice for farmworkers.
